Screwed in Holbrook, But Onward to Vegas - 06/22/2021 (Day 6)

I woke up rather early in the Wigwam as I was excited to get to Vegas and pickup my family. Before I left town I wanted to get a picture taken on Bucket of Blood Street. Apparently, that hasn't always been the name of that road, but there was a bunch of bars on that road back in the day and it would get pretty messy down there. I wanted to get my picture taken with the street sign.

After getting my picture taken with the street sign, I got back into my car and noticed there was a low tire pressure light on. I hopped out, looked at the tire and noticed there was a screw in the tire. So it was off to the local tire shop to get that patched. An hour and 15 minutes and $15 later (definitely not Maryland prices), I was back on the road.  There is no photo of this as I prefer to not remember this moment.

This set back, meant I probably couldn't visit a few things that I wanted to see on the way to Las Vegas.  However I was sure to stop at the Jackrabbit Trading Post and and Winslow along the way.

At the Jackrabbit Trading Post in Joseph City, Arizona, I picked up some postcards and took some pictures with their famous rabbits.

In Winslow, the only thing you can do there is stand on the corner. Just like the Eagles say.

Once I left Winslow it was straight to Las Vegas to pick up my family from the airport.  I was worried I was going to be late due to the delay with a screw in my tire, but their flight was delayed about an hour so we arrived approximately at the same time. There were many miles put on that day that looked like this.

Arriving at the airport in Las Vegas, my girls were so excited to see me.

After departing the airport we went to the Venetian on the Strip.  I didn't want to go right to the hotel as I figured a lot of people would be checking in at 3:00 p.m.

The girls loved the Venetian. There were so many shops to visit and they couldn't believe that the ceiling was painted like a skyline.

After leaving the Venetian we checked into the South Point Hotel and Casino.  We wanted to stay there as it is south of the main strip, we heard great things about the hotel, and it was relatively cheap.  The girls got to swim for a little bit and it was an early night to bed, as they were still on East Coast time.

I even got to kick back with one of my favorite IPAs that I brought west with me.

FINALLY Visiting an Elusive Museum and Coming Home (Day 16)

One of the places I have always wanted to visit was the RV Hall of Fame and Museum in Elkhart, Indiana.  I know it sounds silly, but I have...
